School Meals in 2022-23 School Year
The national federal USDA waivers that allowed the OASD to provide universal free meals due to the COVID-19 pandemic expired on June 30, 2022. Due to that, the OASD's School Nutrition Program will resume its meal program prior to COVID-19. Thank you for your understanding as we adjust our program based on federal funding.
Families are encouraged to fill out free and reduced meal applications to determine eligibility for free or reduced priced meals. Students at schools operating the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day, regardless if a family has filled out the free or reduced meal application. However, families at these schools are still encouraged to fill out the application to determine eligibility for other benefits determined by the application, such as free or reduced priced snack milk at the elementary level, and the waiving of school and sports fees. A free and reduced price meal application was mailed to all OASD families in early August, however applications are also available to pick up from Central Office or the Food Services Office. Applications can also be printed at home from the District Website or families may also apply online through the parent portal 0 see instructions below.
